The Purpose Of These Mustang Pages

Hello Out There In Cyber-Land! Yes, Here's Another Page On Old Classic Mustangs, Added To The Already Over 7000 Plus, On Fords Greatest Creation, The Mustang. Maybe These Pages Will Be A Little Different. As A Fellow Baby-Boomer I Cut My Teeth On A 1966 Coupe. It Had A 289 2v And A 3-Speed Tranny, The Color Was Springtime Yellow With A Black Interior. These Pages Will Be Devoted Only To Mustangs Of The 64 ½ To 73 Models, Before The Demise Of The Muscle Cars! Some Folks May Think That The 5.0 GT Is Fast, And I'm Not Putting Them Down. After All With The New Available Technology, Improved Suspension Packages, and Electronics They Can't Be Topped! But If You Grew Up With The Old Mustang There's Nothing Like Feel In The Seat Of Your Pants Of Driving A Sports Car That Will Carry Three Friends. So Hat's Of To You Ford For Giving Us The "Pony Cars"! I Hope That The New Mustang Will Become A Classic Also.

Mustang Beginnings "The Ford Thunderbird"

In Late Fifty's There Was A Sporty 2-Seat Sports Car That Could Be Bought "The Ford Thunderbird". This Car Was Designed For The Jet-Setters And Had A Jet-Set Price. I've Always Admired The T-Bird, Even Came Close To Owning One In 1964, A Really Nice Ride Back Then, And Even Now. Too Bad Ford Has Decided To Stop Manufacture Of These Great Cars. The T-Bird Was Quick, Stylish, And A Great Looking Two Seat Sports Car, But There Was A New Crowd Coming, "The War Babies" They Would Be A New Market Group, And Would Be Buying Cars For Family And Fun. I Will Offer A T-Bird Page That Will Compare The Two Vehicles Side By Side, I Think The Data Will Speak For Itself, And The Mustang Will Win Hands Down. The T-Bird Had A Long Hood & Short Rear Deck, With Removable Hardtop And Convertible Models. I Also Liked The Way The Hood Opened At The Back, But My Dad's 57 Station Wagon Also Did That. A New Ford Executive Was Charged With The Task Of Designing A New Car For The New Upcoming Hip Generation, His Name Was Lee A. Iaccocca. He Had A Background In Sales And Marketing, And Saw What Was Coming. He Would Base His New Vehicle On The T-bird But He Would, Radically Alter His Creation With A Longer Hood Shorter Rear Deck, Lowered Roofline, And Add Customizing Options So The Buyer Could Have His Own Economy Or Luxurious Personnal Pony To Ride Into The Sunset At Day's End. Thanks To You Lee, For Giving Us The "Poormans Thunderbird".

My-Stang A 65 Classic Pony

The 65 I Now Own, And I'm Currently In The Process Of Finding A Place For The Restoration, "Will Walk A T-Bird Like She's Standing Still". It's An Early Model 65 Built On Jan 5, 1965, At The San Jose, California Plant. It Currently Has 289 2-V, Four-speed Top Loader, And A 9-inch Limited\Slip Rear End, The Exterior Color IsTropical TurquoiseWithWhite Interior. This Color Combination Is Rare In Today's Restorations, As In My Travels, I Haven't Seen Many Of This Color Combination, This Was Also A T-Bird Color Scheme. I Don't Know If This Is The Way The Car Was Built In The Factory, I'm Trying To Research The Car And Find Out How She Was Shipped. I've Decoded The Data Plate, And All The Data Reports These Facts, But Data Plates Can Be Changed, The One Redeming Fact Is That When Sanding The Blue Metalic Paint Off Her, There Was Tropical Turquoise On All Body Pannels Under The Blue Metalic The Color, When I Bought Her. Anyway The Car Can Or Can't Be Restored To Original Condition, Sometimes I think I'd Like To Build Her Like I Want. You Know My Own Personalized Pony, That Would Be A One Of A Kind. You Know Just Like The AMT Model Cars I Used To Put Together, And Then, I'd Also Like To Bring Her Back To The Glory That She Was Created In, Time Will Tell With More Research, Which Way I Decide. If You Can Help In Anyway Let Me Know, As This Is A Real Delima For Me As I Could Take Another Body To Customize, I Have A Spare High Compresion 302 C.I.D. V8, That Needs A Home.

Classic Mustang Information Through The Years

Here Are Some Facts About The Mustangs, Some Photos (As I Find Them), And Other Interesting Stuff, I Hope You Enjoy Your Stay At The Classic Mustang Place. If You Like What You See Or Have Any Photos Of Cars, E-Mail Me At,swordsman@9plus.net. The Photos Are Hard To Find As Hollywood Likes To Send The Ponies Over The Cliffs If You Know What I Mean! From Here On We Will Go Through Each Year, In Order, I'll Start With Production Figures, And Add Pages To My Site As I Get To It. The Little Construction Sign Will Disapear As I Get The Pages Made I Hope This Doesn't Take As Long As It Has To Develope The Style Of My Pages!
