When Ford Motor Company Introduced The 64 1/2 Mustang, On April 17, 1964, There Was So Much Pre-Advertizing, That Folks Flocked To The Showrooms To See This Magnicent New Car!. Ford Had Already Shown The Mustang II At The Watkins Glen Race In The Spring Of 63! For More On This Model Visit My Rare Mustang Page. Ford Began Four Days Before With By Showing The New Mustang At The World's Fair In New York. There Was Also A Media Blitz, Photos Of The New Car Were Shown On The Covers Of The Time & Newsweek Magazines, Plus Other Ads All Over The States. I Remember The Night Before, All Three Networks Ran Commercials For The New Car At Same Time Spot! I Guess Every American With A TV Must Have Seen This New Pony! Ford Had Done Their Homework, The Next Day There Were Crowds So Big That Showroom Widows Were Broken By Folks, There Was So Much Pubiliciy That You Couldn't Escape The Fact That There Was A New Kid In Town, And He Was Breaking All The Rules, And Taking Prisoners. About A Half A Million People Went To See This New Car, With 25,000 New Ponies Sold Or Ordered That Weekend, In April. Ford Had Defenatly Designed The Car For For Us Baby-Boomers, And It Was A Smash Hit!
The New mustang Was Introduced As A 64 1/2 Model And Sold For Around 2500 Dollars........It Had The Following Equipment Standard
